Portico Mar is a luxury resort located by the sea and surrounded by a 840 hectares of environmentally protected forest, which has been declared an Area of Natural Interest. The beach has been awarded with an European Blue Flag and it is well known for its natural dunes. The wide sand beach extends from the mouth of the Segura river to La Mata- a distance of approximately 6 miles. The beach is well maintained and patrolled by life-guards in the summer.

The resort has free wireless internet connectivity. Doormen service and night surveillance by security men is also provided. 2 restaurants are at walking distance (one at the main entrance of Portico Mar and the other 200 m. away at Villa Augusto building).
